All aboard the 2012 Canberra Model Train Expo
The Canberra Model Railway Club and the University of Canberra High School Kaleen present the 2012 Canberra Model Train Expo this weekend for young and old.
Member for Ginninderra Chris Bourke welcomes the partnership between the Canberra Model Railway Club and the University of Canberra High School Kaleen to bring the event to Belconnen this weekend.
The Expo opens Saturday 9am to 5 pm and Sunday 9am to 4 pm.
Dr Bourke will officially open the expo at 10 Saturday.
Canberra model railway enthusiasts established the Canberra Model Railway Club in the 1980s and have been running the expo for over 20 years.
The club operates and maintains a scenic model railway layout which will feature at the expo. It is known as "Crestwood" and was named for the Queanbeyan suburb where it was first built.
The Expo will feature 20 scale model railways, a large Lego railway, "Lyneham Falls "the U-Drive designed to give children hands on experience and trade stands.
Admission is $10 adults, children/seniors $5.00 and a family ticket $20 at the University of Canberra High School Kaleen 104 Baldwin Drive.
