Asbestos Awareness Website Launch
www.asbestos.act.gov.auMinister for Industrial Relations Dr Chris Bourke MLA, today launched the government’s updated Asbestos Awareness - Helping everyone breathe easier website.
Minister Bourke encourages Canberrans to visit the website to learn more about possible asbestos risks and how to manage them.
Community education and awareness is central to the Government’s strategy for managing asbestos today and into the future.
The ACT Government’s Asbestos Awareness website has been entirely revamped and relaunched today. It is aimed at home owners, home renovators, tradespeople, the community in general and people who own or control non-residential buildings.
Everybody has a responsibility when it comes to asbestos – this includes Government, industry and unions, but also extends to homeowners, tradespeople and the general community.
Action and precautions taken today will prevent the unnecessary suffering and loss in future generations.
Everybody has a responsibility to ensure that we all live without the risk of exposure to asbestos, to work safely and most importantly to "breathe easily".
