Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Simon Corbell, congratulated five police and emergency services workers who have shown outstanding commitment and performed above and beyond their duties at the annual ACT Community Protection awards today.
"The men and women who work in police and emergency services work diligently for the ACT community. Today, we have five people who have been deemed by their peers to be recognised for this outstanding service," he said.
Mr Corbell presented each recipient with an ACT Community Protection Medal, which is awarded each year to members who have given sustained, distinguished or outstanding service.
The five recipients of this year's ACT Community Protection Medal are:
"These officers are to be congratulated on their commitment to the ACT community, and I'm proud today to formally recognise their service," Mr Corbell said.
"These five people have demonstrated this dedication over a lengthy period of time, with the community reaping the benefits of their duty."
The ACT Community Protection Medal is awarded on a merit-based system, and is decided based on recommendation by a committee of industry professionals.
